Job Title: Engine Rebuild Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engine Rebuild Specialist to join our team at Wrightbus. As a key member of our engine rebuild team, you will be responsible for the rebuild and refurbishment of diesel engines for our aftermarket division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and diagnose engine condition, including strip-down and component analysis.
  • Define the level of rebuild required and order necessary parts.
  • Organize and participate in the rebuild process, including machining and testing.
  • Operate a test rig to evaluate engines prior to dispatch.
  • Control the purchase and use of all parts used in the process.
  • Maintain the Health and Safety of the division within the Bicester facility.
  • Organize the return and potential fitment of engines into customer vehicles.

Requirements:

  • A time-served apprenticeship with a recognized company, NVQ level 3 & 4.
  • Considerable experience in a bus/industrial engine field for a minimum of three years.
  • Experience in an aftermarket role, specifically including engine and transmission rebuilds.
  • Experience using diagnostic and fault-finding equipment.
  • Experience in root cause failure investigations.

Desirable:

  • Preparation of costings, contractual responses, and customer proposals.
  • Experience developing and working with multiple engine manufacturers' equipment.
  • Understanding of the bus & coach industry.
  • Experience setting up a new facility.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety at work legislation and requirements for safe working.
