Audit & Accounts Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit & Accounts Manager to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd. As a leading accountancy recruitment agency, we specialize in placing talented accounting professionals in top accounting firms across the UK.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, from planning to completion. This will involve the allocation of audit work in the field and the office, preparation and review of statutory accounts, and preparation of tax computations when relevant to audit assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, from planning to completion.
  • Allocate audit work in the field and the office.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts.
  • Prepare tax computations when relevant to audit assignments.
  • Work closely with clients to build trusted relationships and provide support.
  • Deliver a strong commercial awareness and review opportunities for fee development.
  • Confidently present work to Partners and complete files to a high standard.
  • Underpin audit and accounts matters with current legislation and compliance.
  • Delegate work to and mentor an audit team, supporting their learning and development.
  • Set an example for the team as a natural leader and represent the firm at networking opportunities.

Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with demonstrable accountancy practice experience.
  • Strong knowledge of audit and general accounting.
  • Experience managing a team of accountants.
  • Excellent work ethic, self-motivation, and reliability.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good awareness of current affairs.
  • A can-do attitude and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Relationship management and commercial awareness.
