Parks and Grounds Compliance Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance & Facilities Officer to join our team at North Yorkshire County Council. As a key member of our Parks and Grounds Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective, compliant, and safe delivery of our services across various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety and environmental procedures, including risk assessments, accident investigations, and internal audits.
- Act as the service lead for health, safety, and compliance, undertaking regular reviews of operational procedures and developing new procedures for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Deliver internal training within the service, including induction training, manual handling, and risk assessments.
- Maintain a safe working culture within the service and oversee spend related to PPE.
- Work closely with Corporate functions, including Health and Safety, Training and Learning, and HR.
- Have oversight for Health and Safety and operational compliance across a geographical area.
- Provide practical solutions and training to staff, using clear and concise language.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have significant knowledge of services policies and processes. You should be able to prepare and present reports and correspondence, possess excellent written and oral skills, and be able to use a variety of IT systems, including Microsoft Office.
