Compliance and Safety Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Safety Officer to join our team at North Yorkshire County Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of our Parks and Grounds Services.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead on the creation and implementation of safety and environmental procedures, including risk assessments, accident investigations, and internal audits.
- Act as the Service lead across the relevant area, providing guidance and support to staff on health, safety, and compliance matters.
- Deliver internal training to staff on various topics, including manual handling, risk assessments, and induction training.
- Play a key role in maintaining a safe working culture within the Service.
- Oversee spend relating to PPE and work with colleagues to reduce waste.
- Collaborate with Corporate functions, including Health and Safety, Training and Learning, and HR.
- Significant knowledge of services policies and processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prepare and present reports and correspondence.
- Proficiency in using a variety of IT systems, including Microsoft Office.
- Full driving licence.
