About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support Sam, a young man with a spinal injury, in accessing social and leisure activities outside of his home. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enabling Sam to increase his independence and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Sam in accessing social and leisure activities, such as shopping, cinema, bowling, and sports-based activities.
  • Assist Sam with car transfers to lift his lightweight wheelchair in and out of the vehicle.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to help Sam build his confidence.
  • Communicate effectively with Sam and his family to ensure his needs are met.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting individuals with spinal injuries or similar conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, tact, understanding, warmth, and compassion.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate: £12.50 per hour (weekdays) and £13.50 per hour (weekends and bank holidays).
  • Ongoing training and support provided.
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
  • Free DBS check.
