As a Project Manager at Flowbird, you will be responsible for managing small to medium-sized projects or working with a Programme Manager to manage elements of a large programme. You will ensure the successful delivery of highly technological products with demanding timescales.
The projects and programmes require hardware and software development and testing, with deployment and system go-live events involving regular customer interactions in meetings, workshops, and reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure project schedule and budget are tracked and remain on target. Identify any deviations and take corrective action.
- Provide regular financial and status reporting.
- Prepare and maintain the profit and loss statement, including cash flow.
- Manage a project team, possibly within a programme.
- Oversee the delivery of the project in conjunction with the project Technical Lead.
- Provide necessary support for tenders, commercial events, customer presentations.
- Be the main point of contact for project matters.
- Manage customer expectations and ensure they are met or exceeded.
- Provide leadership in the resolution of issues and challenges.
- Ensure the project team understands project goals.
- Prepare and maintain the project schedule.
- Prepare written reports as required.
- Manage the project risks and issues register.
- Ensure resources are in place to deliver projects.
- Ensure each project team member understands their role, activities assigned to them, deliverables expected from them, and resources and timescales available to them.
- Liaise with other departments necessary for delivery of the project, including Hardware and Software Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Commercial, Field Services, Technical Support, and Product Development.
- Participate in the negotiation of contract variations with the customer.
- Ensure timely and professional responses to the customer.
- Ensure all customer commitments are met.
- Ensure customer invoicing is completed in line with project schedules.
Requirements
- Experience of the whole project lifecycle from bidding to warranty support.
- Experience of delivering complex systems.
- Strong customer-facing skills and project management competences.
- Understanding of the project and engineering lifecycle and software and/or systems engineering experience.
- Academic qualification to degree level, accompanied by experience of successful project delivery.
- Ability to manage complex projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong commercial skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft and Google business software environments (spreadsheets, email, word processing).
