We are a high-volume consumables manufacturer in Wellingborough seeking a highly skilled QHSE Coordinator to lead our site's quality assurance, health and safety, and environmental compliance.
Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications. We offer an annual performance bonus of over 10%, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a half-day Friday.
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Commutable locations include Bedford, Northampton, Kettering, Rushden, Thrapstone, Huntingdon, and St Neots.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity for a QHSE professional to take ownership of site QHSE, including ISO:9001, ISO:14001, and ISO:45001. You will drive quality management, quality improvements (product and supplier), and corrective actions, ensuring we comply with all QHSE legislation.
You will report directly to our Operations Director and work closely with our team to install and maintain a solid QHSE mindset throughout the site. As a low-risk DSEAR site, you will also oversee hot extruders and various chemicals stored on-site, as well as monitor our air quality.
Your analytical skills will be crucial in identifying root causes of quality issues and implementing effective countermeasures. You will control the QHSE element of new product introductions and process improvements, leveraging your project experience to drive results.
- Develop and implement QHSE strategies across the business, focusing on ISO:9001 and quality management.
- Manage customer complaints, investigate non-conformance issues, and implement corrective actions (8D).
- Investigate accidents and HSE risks, developing countermeasures to ensure staff safety.
- Promote sustainable practices, reducing the impact of environmental issues, including waste, energy, and renewable materials.
- Support NPI and process improvement initiatives.
To succeed in this role, you will require a strong background in quality management, quality improvements, and corrective actions. Relevant certifications, such as Internal Auditor Training, CQI, or IRCA, are essential. Experience driving QHSE compliance across a manufacturing facility is also required.
You should hold certifications like IOSH Managing Safely, CSP, or NEBOSH. While six sigma or similar qualifications are beneficial, they are not mandatory. If selected, further training and sponsorship may be available to enhance your skills.
This position is ideal for experienced managers, coordinators, supervisors, or engineers looking to advance their careers. As a QHSE Coordinator, you will have full autonomy to shape our site's QHSE strategy and contribute to group opportunities for career progression.
