Job Description:

As a Social Housing Reactive Supervisor at Howells Recruitment, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of our social housing units. You will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of properties, ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians and contractors in responding to reactive maintenance requests, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Inspect properties to identify repair and maintenance needs, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate the allocation of work orders, scheduling repairs, and managing the team's daily activities, maximizing productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, materials used, and costs incurred, providing valuable insights for future improvements.
  • Monitor budgets and costs, making recommendations for cost-effective solutions, ensuring the company's financial goals are met.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and address their concerns promptly and professionally, fostering a sense of community and trust.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination on housing-related matters, driving business success.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to management regarding the status of maintenance operations, enabling informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in maintenance management or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven experience in social housing or property maintenance, with a minimum of [1] years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance, repair, and renovation.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, inspiring and motivating team members to achieve their best.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, building strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and basic computer applications.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in housing maintenance, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation, enabling efficient travel to various locations.
