Lead Care Team Member

Serving as a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered to our residents. This entails creating a warm, supportive environment where each individual feels valued and respected.
Your key responsibilities will include coordinating shifts, leading by example, and being accountable for the performance of your team during each shift. By doing so, you will contribute significantly to maintaining a caring, efficient, and positive atmosphere within our home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and Lead: Ensure all staff members work collaboratively to maintain the smooth operation of the home, fostering a productive and respectful work environment.
- Resident Support: Provide assistance with daily living tasks such as dressing, bathing, toileting, and mobility, always prioritizing their dignity and independence.
- Medication Management: Oversee the ordering, administration, and documentation of medication, guaranteeing accurate records are maintained.
- Effective Communication: Engage in clear and compassionate communication with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
- Team Collaboration: Encourage a team-oriented culture, respecting diversity and promoting a supportive environment for all staff members.
- Visitor Interaction: Welcome visitors and show prospective residents and families around the facilities of The Fleet Care Home.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency call bells, assess situations, and provide or call for assistance as needed.
- Documentation: Prepare and update care plans, risk assessments, and case notes, reflecting residents' needs and preferences accurately.
- Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings, training, and e-learning, taking responsibility for your own growth and development.
- Health and Safety: Be aware of and adhere to Health and Safety policies, including COSHH, and escalate concerns to management.
About You:
- Qualifications: SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is essential. We also welcome applications from experienced Care Assistants actively working towards their Level 3.
- Medication Training: Practical Medication Administration with competencies is required.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, delegating tasks effectively while maintaining a supportive environment.
- Compassionate Nature: A kind, caring, and compassionate personality with a sense of fun and a commitment to person-centred care.
