Job Title: Year 2 Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Year 2 teacher to join our team at Tradewind Recruitment. As a key member of our KS1 department, you will be responsible for leading a Year 2 class and contributing to the school's mission to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with Year 2 National curriculum standards
  • Implement phonics from the Read Write Inc scheme and promote reading for pleasure
  • Plan and deliver effective Maths lessons to ensure pupils are fluent in the fundamentals and can achieve proficiently and conceptual understanding
  • Ensure lessons are inclusive and cater for visual, audio, and kinesthetic learners
  • Develop a nurturing approach with the class and build strong relationships with children, staff, and families
  • Use formative and summative assessment strategies effectively to determine the need for intervention and to address misconceptions and drive progress
  • Communicate and inform the TA of daily activities
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school
Requirements:
  • Must hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Be able to provide 2 recent references that demonstrate excellence in the KS1 setting
  • Be subject to an enhanced DBS check
  • Proof of right to work in the UK
