We are a large regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of over one million people. Our wide range of education options span entry-level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses. We offer nearly 35 A-Level subjects and over 80 vocational courses, including T-Level pathways. We pride ourselves on being part of a consortium of colleges and employers developing the Yorkshire and Humber Institute of Technology (IoT), designed to increase higher level technical skills for employers.
About the Job
This is a key leadership role within our Additional Learning Support function. You will work closely with the Head of Additional Learning Support to ensure efficient use of resources to support students with special education needs, disabilities, and other learning difficulties. Your expertise will inform teaching, learning, assessment, and support practices. You will also lead administrative support staff, managing complex ICT and data handling in a business support setting.
About the Person
We are looking for someone with up-to-date knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice for Further Education and other legislation related to transition, education, social care, and health. You should have experience of student funding, including Adult Skills Fund (formally AEB) and Advanced Learner Loan Bursary, as well as familiarity with associated claims completion. Your leadership qualities should include experience of managing, leading, mentoring, training, and supporting staff while developing and maintaining professional relationships.
Requirements
You should possess a higher-level qualification or equivalent professional qualification in Data/Analysis/Systems/Software/IT or a subject related to this post. You should also have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The estimated salary for this role is £32,500 per annum.
