Costing Analyst

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire is seeking a skilled Estimator or Trainee Estimator to join our team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide exceptional analysis from the Patient Level Costing System to the Head of Costing. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and addressing routine and ad-hoc information requests from Finance Teams, Operational Managers, and end users.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive financial and activity-based analysis of Group/Specialty Service Line financial positions to the Head of Costing.
- Utilize expertise, experience, knowledge, and skills to manipulate databases and design spreadsheets that analyze costing output.
- Lead on service development in the role's own specialist areas, proposing changes to procedures and policies operated within the Costing Department.
- Ensure that the work undertaken complies with NHSE Approved Costing Guidance.
- Collaborate with the Head of Costing to resolve queries from finance teams and end users on information and output issues.
- Manage the day-to-day line management of any Regional or National Trainees who work in the Costing Team.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020.
The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will also have a strong understanding of financial and costing systems, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
