About the Role

The Vision and Hearing Impairment/Deaf Education Service is a dynamic team that supports children and young people with vision and hearing impairments across Bury.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Teacher of the Deaf to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Specialist HI Unit and support assistants to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Specialist HI Unit and support assistants to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with hearing impairments.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to teachers and support staff on strategies for supporting students with hearing impairments.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure that students with hearing impairments receive comprehensive support and services.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory Qualification for Teacher of the Deaf.
  • Experience working with children and young people with hearing impairments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
