About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Insurance Portfolio Analyst to join our team at Bell & Clements. As an Insurance Portfolio Analyst, you will play a critical role in monitoring the performance of our portfolio and individual agreements, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Regularly review and analyze portfolio performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration and Optimization: Work closely with our Digital Underwriting teams to optimize portfolio performance, making recommendations on aggregate optimization, eligibility rule changes, and market pricing.
  • Underwriting and Onboarding: Assist with underwriting, onboarding, and integration of new agreements and relationships, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Guidelines and Documentation: Maintain and update Digital Underwriting guidelines and documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all teams.
  • Support and Client Facing: Provide support to Underwriters throughout the annual planning process, producing materials for Underwriting Committee, Quarterly Business Reviews, and other committees as required. Respond to underwriting, accounting, and technical queries from customers, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Diary Management and Meetings: Manage diaries, prepare for meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and distribute notes and follow-up action points.
  • Underwriting Reviews: Assist with Underwriting Reviews as required, collating information, drafting findings and recommendations, and following up on recommendations to ensure completion.

  • Personal and Professional Development: Take ownership of personal and professional development, setting commitments and receiving and giving frequent, constructive feedback.
  • Company Policies and Procedures: Adhere to the policies and procedures of Bell & Clements Ltd.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience underwriting or assisting with US property insurance or reinsurance.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, coordinating the needs of multiple stakeholders concurrently.
  • Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Self-starter with the ability and confidence to make real-time decisions and solve complex problems.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Basic understanding of standard insurance terminology, coverages, and metrics.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, with experience evaluating exposure data desirable.
