Oxford Instruments, a leading company in the field of high-tech tools and systems, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembly Specialist to join our team. About Us

We specialise in the design, manufacture and support of various scientific instruments and solutions used in diverse areas such as materials science, nanotechnology and industrial applications. Our cutting-edge instruments and solutions have significantly contributed to advancing scientific knowledge and technological progress.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of around £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a range of benefits, including 25 days' annual leave, flexible working hours, car share scheme, technology buy scheme, and a company pension scheme.

Job Description

  • To manufacture products and components to meet agreed quality, time-scale and cost objectives.
  • Supports the implementation of best practice processes, techniques and continuous improvement methods.
  • Operate within the Quality policy and procedures as defined in the quality system.
  • Maintain a flexible attitude and approach to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Using agreed measures, monitor and report on existing processes, indicating the need for corrective action as required.
  • Support the Cell Leader in improving the performance and development of the team.
  • Establish and maintain close and effective working relationships with other members of the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with:

A recognised relevant engineering qualification such as an apprenticeship, NVQ etc.Good practical knowledge of skills such as mechanical assembly, electrical and electronic assembly, wiring looms, Electrical soldering, surface mount soldering and bench assemblies.H&S Compliance.
