Job Title: Agile Business Analyst/Scrum Master

Location: Richmond VA (Remote)

Duration: Long Term Contract

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to play a dual role as an Agile Business Analyst and Scrum Master. As an Agile Business Analyst, you will work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and help the development team meet those requirements using Agile methods.

As a Scrum Master, you will support the Project Manager in driving sprint planning, daily stands, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. You will also help remove impediments and facilitate meetings and scrum ceremonies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Agile Business Analyst:
  • Analyze business domain initiatives to identify epics and features requirements.
  • Help Product Owner develop and manage product strategy.
  • Stock and groom the product catalog.
  • Help break user stories into viable product (MVP).
  • Help development team understand the bigger picture.
  • Convert business requirements into business process flows and functional requirements.
  • Serve as Proxy Product Owner as needed.
Scrum Master:
  • Support Project Manager in driving sprint planning, daily stands, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Help remove impediments.
  • Facilitate meetings and scrum ceremonies.
Requirements:

Strong Communication Skills: An Agile Business Analyst needs to communicate with nearly everyone and consider everyone's needs and concerns.

Flexibility and Adaptability: As Agile teams are cross-functional and self-organizing, an Agile Business Analyst must learn to continuously self-reflect and think how best they can contribute to the team.

Knowledge of Different Tools and Techniques: Agile tools and techniques make the team more effective.

Facilitation skills: The ability to effectively facilitate meetings and scrum ceremonies is vital.

Technical knowledge: While not mandatory, having a technical background can be beneficial especially when working with development teams.

Scrum framework: SME in agile/scrum frameworks and tools.

Certifications: Required: CSM (Certified Scrum Master). Desired: Product Owner.
