Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Childcare Lawyer to join our dynamic and friendly Legal Team at the London Borough of Lewisham. The successful candidate will have experience in Childcare Law, preferably from a local authority setting, and be able to handle a demanding and busy caseload of mainly child protection cases.

Main Responsibilities
  • Handle a caseload of child protection cases, with the opportunity to undertake advocacy in the Central Family Court
  • Advise Social Services clients on all aspects of relevant legislation
  • Prepare legal documentation, including court documents, and assist Senior Social Care Lawyers and Principal Lawyer as needed
  • Carry out legal research

Requirements

We are looking for a qualified lawyer with at least 3 years PQE (Barrister, Solicitor, or CILEx) and a current practising certificate. Experience in a local government setting is preferred, but not essential.
