About the Job

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveying Specialist to join our HS2 Utilities team in London. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of the Utilities Budget Item and maintaining regular liaison with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with area commercial teams and support with the production of monthly out-turn forecast reports, assisting with the presentation of key management information to HS2.
  • Support on the procurement of Utilities subcontracts, including benchmarking and commercial review of price/programmes as part of stage gateway reviews.
  • Liaise with wider Utilities commercial and technical teams to effectively manage risks and opportunities throughout project design and delivery.
  • Work closely with project management and engineering teams and liaise with Employers commercial team and client team.
  • Prepare and agree interim applications for payment.
  • Prepare and agree final accounts with subcontractor.
  • Be responsible for contract administration of the Budget Item through recognised platform (CEMAR).
  • Control of project documentation and maintain adequate records to ensure compliance with auditing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Project standards and procedures in respect of Commercial activities.
  • Preparation of Commercial documentation and agreements.
  • Cost and Value management.
  • Preparation, maintenance and agreement of Project accounts.
  • Provision of commercial and financial reporting information.
  • Support the development of more junior members of the Commercial team.
  • Ad hoc duties as job requires.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in managing commercial aspects of utility related projects or works.
  • Extensive experience of drafting effective contractual correspondence and the facilitation of collaborative solutions.
  • Demonstrable subcontract management of NEC 3 Option C Contracts.
  • Demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge and experience.

Salary: Estimated salary range: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum.
