We are seeking a highly skilled Fabric Technologist to join our team at QHQ Ltd in Buckinghamshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Product Department with the sourcing, development, and production of premium quality fabrics and materials.
The Role:
As a Fabric Technologist, you will work closely with the Materials team to deliver compelling and innovative fabrics and materials that meet the highest quality standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and sourcing premium quality fabrics and materials across multiple categories, including waterproof, insulation, fleece, jersey, and technical wovens.
- Collaborating with suppliers to ensure that standards and specifications are met and deadlines are adhered to.
- Working closely with the Product team to ensure that expected quality standards and deadlines are upheld from concept to delivery.
- Responsible for initial costing to hit required margin targets.
- Understanding and implementing fabric testing requirements and standards, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Developing strong relationships with suppliers in the EU and Asia.
- Contributing to the development of materials elements of compliance and sustainability goals and targets.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of technical and performance fabrics and finishes, including techniques such as print.
- Experience in fabric development, sourcing, and production.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience of sustainability a benefit.
