Manufacturing Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Reed Engineering in Ipswich. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading significant improvements in operations and applying lean methodology to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure seamless integration of parts and products into production.
  • Maintain safety, quality, production, and cost standards.
  • Provide essential weld support including process, tooling, documentation, tool design, and implementation.
  • Support other primary areas such as form tooling, tube bending, and machining fixtures.
  • Manage new machinery specifications and implementation to support growth plans.
  • Handle primary area change notes, set standard times & routings, and review for Design for Manufacture (DFM).
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and engage in continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the primary team to sustain and improve processes and controls in existing production lines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of PFMEA, SPC, and Quality Control Techniques.
  • Proficiency in CAD systems, Siemens NX preferred.
  • Versatile and self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision.
