Project Engineer Job Description

Orion Electrotech is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join their established engineering team within the Rail and Transport sector.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking technical ownership of assigned projects, leading cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet industry standards and quality expectations within agreed-upon timelines. This will involve technical leadership of engineering design-based projects from inception to completion.

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that customer and company requirements are met, including on-site surveys, support for installations, site acceptance tests, and quality inspections. You will also apply relevant legal and safety standards to provide a professional quality service within budgetary and program constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical leadership of engineering design-based projects
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality expectations
  • Leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects
  • On-site surveys and support for installations
  • Site acceptance tests and quality inspections
  • Applying relevant legal and safety standards
Requirements:
  • Understanding of the UK Rail Industry and its associated standards and regulations
  • Chartered member of IMechE or IET or other similar professional body
  • BEng/MEng degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
