Job Title: Laboratory Technician - Ink Indicators

STERIS is a leading global provider of products and services that support patient care with an emphasis on infection prevention.

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in the Ink Laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the production requirements for inks/solutions are met, and the Production Laboratory is maintained in good order.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure inventory levels of inks, solutions, adhesives, and solvents for manufacturing are maintained.
  • Manufacture inks required 'on the day' in accordance with the production plan and production requirements.
  • Carry out tests on inks, solutions, and adhesives to prove correct performance before providing to QA for final approval.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals and solvents.
  • Be competent in the use of laboratory manufacturing equipment – mixers, milling equipment.
  • Report any production paperwork discrepancies to the Ink Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the ink laboratory, ensuring any defects are reported promptly to the appropriate responsible person.
  • Comply with the requirements of the organisation's Quality Assurance systems and take responsibility for all its obligations.
  • Carry out all tasks within current safety and quality legislation and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Vocational/Technical Education Degree
  • 4 GCSE (Maths, English, and Sciences) or relevant A-level passes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within an environment controlled by a Quality Management System
  • Understanding of the handling of chemistries in small and large quantities and the requirement for strict PPE use
