Development and External Relations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Development and External Relations Manager. This is a key role within the Senior Management Team, responsible for driving forward the Art School's development and external relations strategies.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of the Art School's fundraising strategies, working closely with the Principal, Director of Resources and Operations, and the Joint Development Working Group.
- Identify and pursue sources of funding for projects, including capital and revenue projects, in accordance with the Art School's strategy and targets.
- Nurture existing and develop new relationships within the Art School's expanding base of supporters and collaborators, including through the organisation of events.
- Develop strategies for cultivation and solicitation, overseeing cross-departmental activity for engagement, profile raising, and fundraising purposes.
- Work closely with trustees and fellow members of the senior management team to drive forward the Art School's development and external relations objectives.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising and development experience, preferably in a higher education or arts sector setting.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and develop effective plans to achieve goals.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
