Staffbase Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client, a leading manufacturer of automated packaging machinery. This is a 6-month contract opportunity for a design engineer with machinery design experience.

The Role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will report to the Design Manager and provide effective design engineering support using Auto CAD & 3D Inventor software. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Liaising with the UK sales team and engineering department to qualify leads.
  2. Producing component and assembly drawings using Auto CAD 2D and 3D Inventor software.
  3. Designing and developing solutions for product or component modifications.
  4. Developing your design engineering skills to allow your progression within the business.
  5. Effective communication of quotations, lead times, and coordinating each project through all stages.

Candidate Requirements:

We are looking for a graduate or apprentice-trained Design Engineer with at least 5 years of previous mechanical design experience. You will have excellent Auto CAD 2D and 3D Inventor software knowledge and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ideally, you will be educated to HNC/D or higher level in mechanical engineering/design.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
