We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician. This is a brand new and exciting training opportunity for two multisector Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians.
About the RoleIn this role, you will train as and complete the necessary qualifications to register and work as a pharmacy technician. You will possess 5 or equivalent at grade 4 (C) or above to include English (language), Maths and two science subjects (dual award sciences acceptable).
Main DutiesRotations include:
- Working at NUH, covering various areas of pharmacy including dispensaries, wards & production. You will gain the skills to accurately assemble medicines for prescriptions, provide medicines management for patients on a ward, thereby contributing to a safe and effective pharmacy service.
- General Practice in a PCN for a period of training defined in the training plan, responding to prescription requests, reviewing hospital discharge/clinic letters & reconciling medication against current medications highlighting discrepancies under supervision of a Pharmacist / Technician
- NHCT Mental Health Services for a period of training as defined in the training plan - dispensing, checking, & issuing medicines, including controlled drugs, counselling patients, stock management, reconciliation of medicines, participating in rotational ward rounds & outpatient clinics, undertaking medication reviews & audits under the supervision of the Pharmacist/Technician

- English GCSE grade 4 (C) or above
