About the Role

To support the Team Manager and contribute to the success of the business, we are seeking a Deputy Team Manager to provide guidance and support to a team of case handlers and administrators dealing with ULR Cases. The ideal candidate will be able to motivate, lead, and assist with managing team performance, ensuring delivery of robust quality claims handling and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in ensuring the team delivers a profitable, client-focused service with a focus on quality.
  • Manage individual team performance in line with business and team objectives, be accountable for their financial performance, and delivery against agreed KPIs.
  • Ensure controls are in place to identify all financial recovery opportunities at the earliest opportunity.
  • Provide effective people management to the team and drive the right behaviours.
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with internal SLAs, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide full supervisory support and guidance on technical issues involving quantum, liability, and litigation.
  • Ensure the teams deliver an excellent level of customer service, manage client expectations, and proactively progress claims.
  • Assist with managing risk across the teams, including completion of agreed management checks and producing relevant reports.
  • Liaise with Senior Management and HR regarding any staff issues.
  • Handle complaints in accordance with the firm's internal Complaints Procedure.
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor, Member/Fellow of CILEx, or other relevant industry qualifications or experience in a recoveries/litigation environment.
  • Ability to compile and analyse data and take action according to the results.
  • Ability to provide clear direction and take accountability for the team's performance and objectives.
  • Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office.
