Job Title: Disrepair Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Disrepair Surveyor to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. As a Disrepair Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in assisting our clients with the appointment of a Disrepair Surveyor on a 3-month contract, which may be extended at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate with tenants and their representatives to arrange access for inspections and produce detailed reports with photographic evidence, including a Scott schedule/specification of work itemized from the schedule of rates or using composite values.
  • Conduct pre/post-inspections to identify repairs/defects and potential improvements, and prepare specifications and estimates as required.
  • Attend properties to carry out inspections and provide advice to tenants on a range of health and housing issues, maintaining proper records of visits and inspection findings, and making recommendations to senior managers on areas needing further action.
  • Work independently and manage a variable caseload in relation to disrepair and insurance.
  • Investigate, monitor, and manage works in relation to disrepair issues, structural repairs, and insurance works.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of building maintenance.
  • Experience of the diverse issues affecting poor health in social housing.
  • Degree/HNC and/or membership of a recognized professional body or equivalent qualification and experience in legal disrepair.

Important Notes:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the UK.
  • This role requires a basic DBS.
