Job Title: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a reputable secondary school in the Salisbury area. This long-term contract position involves providing individualised support to a child with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP), ensuring they receive the necessary attention and guidance to thrive academically.

About the School

The mixed secondary school caters to students aged 11 to 16 and boasts a "Good" rating from Ofsted. The school has a supportive Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and is well-regarded for its commitment to student welfare and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support to the child, fostering development in all areas and working on the goals outlined in their EHCP.
  • Communicate feedback to the teacher and assist with any assessments.
  • Assist with the child's personal care needs.
  • Help the child follow the daily schedule of activities and support regular activity breaks.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred.
  • A strong passion for education and supporting students with additional needs.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and eager to learn.
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
  • Possess a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification.
