Job Description Summary

As a key member of our dynamic team of engineers, you will play a crucial role in the delivery and application engineering of existing and new electronic applications, particularly for HVDC converters and the forthcoming HVDC Grid. This is a highly exciting and dynamic field of power engineering in which GE's leading contribution has worldwide recognition.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement digital and analogue electronic design solutions, including power supply circuits, control, and protection circuits of power electronic devices such as IGBT and thyristor.
  2. Design and develop electronic components and principles, with a strong focus on technical understanding and working experience.
  3. Conduct testing to validate electronic circuits, using prior experience and on-the-job training, and perform fault analysis and design improvement.
  4. Generate technical documentation, such as test reports and specifications for electronic circuits.
  5. Perform routine and type test specifications and pre-commissioning testing of converter valves.
  6. Provide product support during the complete life cycle from development to tender and commissioning of projects.
Candidate Profile:

We are seeking an electronics expert with a graduate-level education or equivalent experience, with a strong technical understanding of digital and analogue electronic design for an industrial control system.

Requirements:
  1. Educated to degree level in electronic engineering.
  2. Able to work to deadlines with high quality and accuracy.
  3. Dynamic and proactive, with the ability to work on one's own or as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to resolve technical issues.
  4. Aware of EHS compliance in design and engineering.
  5. Knowledge of HVDC (preferred attribute).
