Job Description Summary

As a key member of our dynamic team of engineers, you will play a crucial role in the delivery and application engineering of existing and new electronic applications, particularly for HVDC converters and the forthcoming HVDC Grid. This is a highly exciting and dynamic field of power engineering in which GE's leading contribution has worldwide recognition.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement digital and analogue electronic design solutions, including power supply circuits, control, and protection circuits of power electronic devices such as IGBT and thyristor.
  2. Design and develop electronic circuits using prior experience and on-the-job training, with a focus on technical documentation and validation.
  3. Perform routine and type test specifications and pre-commissioning testing of converter valves, with a strong emphasis on quality and accuracy.
  4. Provide product support during the complete life cycle from development to tender and commissioning of projects, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  5. Collaborate with other GE teams, test laboratories, strategic suppliers, and contract customers to ensure seamless project execution.
Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced electronics engineer with a strong background in digital and analogue electronic design, as well as a good level of technical understanding of electronic components and principles. The ideal candidate will have a graduate-level education in electronic engineering and a proven track record of delivering high-quality electronic design solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  1. Educated to degree level in electronic engineering.
Required Characteristics:
  1. Able to work to deadlines with high quality and accuracy.
  2. Dynamic and proactive, with the ability to work on one's own or as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to resolve technical issues.
  3. Knowledge of HVDC (preferred attribute).
  4. Aware of EHS compliance in design and engineering.
  5. Knowledge of digital electronic circuit design and development.
  6. Knowledge of analogue electronic circuit design and development.
  7. Knowledge of schematic capture supervision.
  8. Knowledge of PCB layout supervision, including rules & constraints.
  9. Knowledge of electronic component selection, analysis, and qualification testing.
  10. Aware of Controllership and ROHS/REACH compliance.
  11. Knowledge of FPGA component selection.
  12. Experience in product verification (bench testing) and validation (integration testing).
  13. Experience in electronic design for EMC.
  14. Experience in design for manufacture (DFM), test (DFT), industrialization, and design to cost.
  15. Some knowledge and experience in firmware code development (preferred attribute).
  16. Some knowledge and experience in model-based product development tools (MATLAB, Mathcad, LTspice) (preferred attribute).
