Role Overview

This position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing roadside electronic signage systems, encompassing Variable Message Signs (VMS), Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS), CCTV, and MESH networks. The estimated annual salary for this role is £45,000-£60,000, contingent on experience.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Installation and commissioning of signage, CCTV, and MESH systems.
  • Equipment fault resolution and repair within specified deadlines.
  • Weekend and evening shifts, with occasional out-of-hours call-outs on a scheduled basis.
  • Independent work with minimal supervision, requiring initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Occasional overnight stays at job sites, with hotel accommodation provided.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 months' experience as a Highways Electrician or similar role.
  • Desirable: experience with electronic signage, traffic signal systems, vehicle detection technology, CCTV, or MESH networks.
  • Previous work experience on highways or similar infrastructure projects.
  • C&G electrical qualifications or equivalent.
  • Practical electrical knowledge to effectively manage and understand systems and equipment.
  • Commitment to passing safety-critical medical and drug/alcohol tests as required.
  • Valid UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK.
