About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the daily management of our Female Acute Ward, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the ward team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement care plans, working closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure individualized care.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks, ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Consultant Practitioner/Clinical Manager to set objectives for care delivery, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures, and standards, including the Trust's CPA Policy and Admission Procedure.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supporting the team to meet key performance indicators and contractual targets.
  • Work closely with the Executive Nurse to develop nursing practice across the ward, ensuring excellence in patient care and services.
Person Specification
  • Registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) Part 3.
  • Meet the requirements for revalidation as set out by the NMC.
  • Proven experience of working in a health/social care or acute setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of working with, supervising lower-banded staff, and managing the care of service users with highly complex needs.
  • Ability to supervise and conduct highly complex assessments and reviews of care in line with the requirements of the mental health care clusters.
  • Knowledge of working with external agencies to support the service user group.
