Learning and Development Specialist

We are seeking an exceptional Teacher of Science to join our team at USP College. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and participating in academic and pastoral work within the curriculum area. You will contribute to the development of curriculum policies and practices, as well as collaborate with colleagues to ensure a seamless learning experience for our students.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide expert instruction and guidance to students, promoting career-focused learning and ensuring that our college strategy is at the forefront of everything we do.
- Be prepared to travel across campus to carry out teaching duties when required.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the curriculum area, offering innovative ideas and solutions to enhance student outcomes.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum schemes of work, catering to the diverse needs of our students.
- Set and mark student work regularly, providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
- Monitor student performance, reporting on their progress through regular review and assessment procedures.
- Record and manage resources, ensuring effective distribution among students.
- Communicate with staff regarding shared group activities and organization.
- Attend parents' consultation evenings, interview events, and other college functions.
- Prepare materials and participate in Preview/Open evenings.
- Interview prospective students, ensuring they are well-suited for our program.
- Contribute to the induction process, supporting new students in their transition to our college community.
- Cover classes for absent colleagues as directed by the relevant post-holder.
- Participate in the professional appraisal process, reflecting on your practice and areas for growth.
- Stay up-to-date with recent developments in the subject/curriculum area, sharing knowledge with colleagues and contributing to curriculum enhancements.
- Attend curriculum meetings, actively contributing to discussions and decision-making processes.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess:
- A degree in Biology or a related field.
- Effective strategies for working with level 1, 2, and 3 students.
