Role Overview
Protocol Education is seeking a Behaviour Specialist to join our team as a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant. This role will require catering to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to support students with SEMH needs in managing their behaviour and improving their academic outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to support the SEMH needs of students.
- Provide individual and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Collaborate with the education team to develop and implement behaviour management strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop behaviour plans to support students with SEMH needs.
- Work with students to develop social skills and strategies to manage their behaviour.
- Provide support to students with SEMH needs in a classroom setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, counselling, social work or related field is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques or willingness to learn.
- It is desired (although not essential) that applicants have a qualification in Team Teach and experience in dealing with young people who have SEMH needs.
