About the Role

Lotty's Flowers, a thriving retail floristry business, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Floristry Manager to lead our team and drive business growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing a team of florists, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position, working 5 days a week, including alternate Saturdays, with opportunities to work on events and weddings.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and maintain high-quality floral arrangements for various occasions, including funerals, weddings, and everyday flowers.
  2. Develop and implement effective wedding and events management strategies.
  3. Train and mentor junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  4. Conduct floral workshops and training sessions to promote staff development.
  5. Manage the shop diary and schedule to ensure efficient operations.
  6. Supervise and manage shop staff, delivery drivers, and freelancers to maintain a high level of customer service.
  7. Ensure adequate florist coverage for the shop and events.
  8. Maintain exceptional standards of flower quality, adhering to conditioning protocols and refreshing the flower stand regularly.
  9. Order flowers from wholesalers to meet customer demands.
  10. Delegate tasks and instruct staff members to ensure seamless operations.
  11. Process customer orders and handle payments over the phone.
  12. Maintain and organize event stock to meet customer needs.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  14. Exercise resourcefulness and initiative to overcome challenges and ensure team success.
  15. Display empathy and compassion when dealing with customers and staff.
  16. Remain calm and composed under pressure, ensuring the team remains focused on achieving outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  1. Previous experience working as a florist, with the ability to create and guide other florists on arrangements.
  2. Confident and clear communication skills.
  3. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Social media experience.
  • Shop management experience.
  • Knowledge of plants and gardening.
  • Management experience.

Package

This is a permanent full-time position, with a starting annual salary of £28,000, subject to performance review and increase. The role includes 28 days' holiday, pension, and incentives/bonuses. Opportunities for charity work in the local community are also available.
