We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Finance Partner to join our team at the BBC. As a key member of our Corporate Finance team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic financial advice and guidance to senior management across the BBC Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and analyze long-term corporate modeling across the BBC's public and commercial activities
  • Advise on longer-term strategic financial priorities and manage financial risk, providing effective financial advice to senior management
  • Support interactions with Group Strategy, Businesses, Divisions, and Senior Leadership in understanding the implications of financial transactions and activity on Group performance
  • Prepare and present insightful analysis as the foundation for strategic decision-making, resource allocation, and performance management

Corporate Finance Advice

  • Provide corporate finance expertise across the BBC Group on the assessment, structuring, and negotiation of financial transactions, investments, and partnerships
  • Reference and champion external and BBC-wide knowledge of best practice in corporate finance financial analysis, ways of working, or driving commercial performance
  • Act as a critical adviser to appraise, challenge, and resolve key business initiatives and issues

Performance

  • Analyze and review financial performance, especially drivers, trends, and the competitive environment, to enhance understanding thereof on the part of management, the BBC Board, regulators, and external advisers
  • Influence BBC decision-makers in the shareholder oversight of the BBC's commercial subsidiaries and solve complex pan-BBC challenges
  • Provide assurance and deliver recommendations and solutions, based on high-quality, concise, and sound financial and strategic analysis

Special Projects

  • Work with stakeholders across the Group to participate in and manage special projects, including financial modeling and providing a range of scenarios
  • Engage with external advisory partners, government bodies, and financial institutions
  • Manage consultants to ensure they can perform any analysis required and guide and shape the output they provide
  • Build collaborative relationships across the BBC's Finance teams, public service divisions, Group functions, and commercial subsidiaries

Requirements

  • Several years' experience working in corporate finance or a closely related discipline, advisory, or in-house
  • Professional accounting qualification not required, but experience in corporate finance or related areas, project leadership or management, financial return or corporate valuation analysis, providing written advice and recommendations at a board level, creating and delivering presentations, partnering with stakeholders or clients to challenge and test assumptions
