Project Director Cost Manager

About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director Cost Manager to join our team in Nottingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of cost managers at various grades, developing opportunities, and driving growth across the Business Unit's activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and manage strategies to deliver business objectives.
- Identify new business development opportunities and drive growth across the Business Unit's activities.
- Ensure projects are managed in accordance with Gleeds processes and procedures (governance and controls).
- Agree fees and charges for potential services with Business Unit Manager/Area Chair.
- Agree appointments/scope of services and ensure appointments are in place prior to commencing service delivery.
- Deliver high-quality services and deliverables ensuring services meet our customers' requirements.
- Review scope of appointments on a monthly basis to ensure services are being delivered in accordance with appointments.
- Manage and maintain customer relationships (i.e., clients, business partners, and other consultants).
- Resolve customer complaints.
- Ensure sufficient resources are made available to deliver services on our projects, including managing resource conflict resolution (with fellow directors).
- Lead and manage teams, including working with Associate Directors in managing resources and workload.
- Manage employees, focusing on retention and development.
- Develop and enhance Gleeds cost management capability.
- Brief employees on relevant aspects of Gleeds business.
- Prepare bids for services.
- Manage service delivery for profit.
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects (e.g., scope of services/deliverables, invoices, payments, and debt management).
- Work harmoniously with other directors and assist Business Unit Manager/Area Chair.
About You
We are looking for an ambitious and motivated individual with extensive cost management experience post-MRICS qualification. The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and cost planning techniques, sound practical knowledge of construction methods and materials, and excellent knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
