About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Machine Shop Planner to join our team at Autograph Recruitment. As a key member of our manufacturing operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely running of our Machine Shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate production orders to meet customer delivery requirements, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Release production orders and book in completed work, maintaining accurate records and communication with the shop floor.
  • Issue plans to the shop floor, providing clear guidance on forward load and required dates.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment utilization.
  • Facilitate make-or-subcontract discussions and manage sub-contract order placement, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) monthly, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Communicate accurate planning information to internal customers, ensuring alignment with agreed plans and objectives.
  • Assist in identifying and justifying improvement projects, driving process enhancements and efficiency gains.
Requirements
  • Engineering background in manufacturing, including CNC machining.
  • Experience reviewing KPIs and managing production planning processes.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and ability to navigate complex manufacturing software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
