About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate in Computational Skyrmionics for Neuromorphic Computing to join our interdisciplinary team.

Job Description:

This role involves conducting research on emerging magnetic nanotechnologies to enable computing hardware for brain-inspired computing. You will work on developing skyrmionics-based neuromorphic components, such as nanosynaptic devices, under realistic operating conditions.

The successful candidate will be part of the Skyrmionics team and hosted by the Nano Engineering and Spintronic Technologies (NEST) group at the University of Manchester.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on computational techniques for skyrmionics-based neuromorphic computing
  • Develop skyrmionics-based neuromorphic components, such as nanosynaptic devices
  • Work with the NEST group to advance the field of spintronics and magnetic data storage
Requirements:
  • PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Strong background in computational techniques, such as micromagnetic and atomistic simulations
  • Experience with circuit-level and neural network-level simulations
