The Institution delivers a wide range of courses and the Procurement Manager will work closely with stakeholders across multiple campuses to deliver their procurement needs and projects.
The Procurement Team will work across various categories, including estates, professional services, travel, insurance, and IT, and will network across the Institution to promote the capabilities of the Procurement Team.
The Procurement Manager will manage and mentor the team in managing lower-level spend and support their development. They will also network with peers across the wider business and work collaboratively with them using framework agreements.
The organisation has a strong ethical ethos, so our client is keen to speak with candidates who have a strong grounding in sustainable/responsible procurement practices.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Developing a network of stakeholders with procurement requirements
- Managing supplier relationships and contracts
- Undertaking spend analysis and managing the tender process for supplies and services
- Mentoring and developing colleagues in managing lower-level spend
- Developing procurement processes and delivering procurement awareness training
- Ensuring robust procurement principles are applied to all procurement processes
- Delivering reporting to key stakeholders
Our client is looking for a candidate with:
- Proven experience working in Public Sector Procurement
- Significant knowledge of Scottish/UK procurement legislation
- Experience in tendering within a regulated environment
- Understanding of the key ethical/social & environmental impacts of procurement
- Experience with project management processes and meeting demanding targets and deadlines
- Ability to deliver a First-Class procurement service to stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
