Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Opportunity

Langham Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in Chelmsford. As a world leader in the development of products for the scientific and satellite / space industries, our client offers a unique opportunity for a mechanical engineer with expertise in opto-mechanical design and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design of mounting arrangements for optics and review designs from sub-contractors
  • Assist with requirements management of opto-mechanical technologies and conduct opto-mechanical analysis
  • Design mechanical components and support verification and testing
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure high quality standards are met across the development lifecycle
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of precision mechanical mounting of optics for structural, dynamic, and thermal environments
  • Ability to review opto-mechanical designs and competent with CAD packages
  • Experience of opto-mechanical design and analysis, as well as knowledge of requirements management
