Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Waltham Forest. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students who require additional help in their learning and behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in lessons, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, to ensure they can access the curriculum.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson planning and delivery, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help manage student behaviour and promote a positive learning culture, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  • Provide emotional and academic support to students, helping them overcome challenges in and out of the classroom.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a PRU or with children who have additional learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • A caring and empathetic approach, with a commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning.
