Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Veterinary Inspector to provide expert veterinary operational services to safeguard animal health and welfare, protect public health, and enhance food security.
The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating notifiable animal diseases, conducting physical examinations, and contributing to disease control efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate notifiable animal diseases and other food safety incidents
- Carry out euthanasia of animals when necessary
- Conduct physical examinations of animals, records, and premises
- Contribute to diagnosing notifiable diseases and controlling disease
- Ensure personal decisions, advice, and actions are based on evidence and legal frameworks
- Conduct import controls on animals and animal products
- Participate in contingency planning and respond to disease outbreaks
- Establish and champion high health and safety standards
