Our Shared Services team delivers specialist processes that have a direct impact on our performance, including payroll, recruitment, payables, receivables, financial accounting, reporting, controls, and compliance.

We are looking for a skilled professional to manage and deliver compensation to Train Operating Companies in line with Schedule 4 of the track access contract. This role involves scheduling compensation, claims, and forecasting as well as delivering utility billing for routes and regions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage nominated Schedule 4 contracts to achieve cost-effective spend of Network Rail compensation budget.
  • Validate utility (electricity, gas, and water) invoices and resolve supplier bill queries to provide accurate invoicing for route customers.
  • Produce timely and accurate Schedule 4 forecasts, estimates, and management information.
  • Monitor, measure, analyze, and report on energy usage for route finance and energy managers.
  • Provide energy-related advice and resolve queries from customers/stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing effective relationships with customers and stakeholders across Energy and Schedule 4.
  • Analyze Quality KPIs, Systems Link, and databases to identify issues requiring immediate attention.
  • Make recommendations and implement improvements to reduce Network Rail's energy consumption and related costs.
  • Have detailed working knowledge of relevant compensation and planning processes.

Requirements:

  • Detailed working knowledge of relevant compensation systems.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant planning systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant content of Network Code.
  • Knowledge of energy markets.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment with large volumes of data and report writing solutions.
  • Energy Monitoring and Targeting experience.

Salary Range: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
