The Ministry of Defence is seeking an experienced Senior Food Safety Instructor to join its team at the Defence School of Logistics and Administration (DSLA). As a key member of the Catering Training Wing, you will be responsible for delivering and managing Food Safety training to military personnel up to Level 4 standard.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with senior managers and peers to develop and optimise culinary training courses. Your expertise will play a critical role in maintaining the high standards of the Catering Training Wing as a centre of culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver and coordinate Food Safety and Health and Safety training up to Level 4 standard.
  2. Manage the coordination of Safety training with awarding bodies.
  3. Oversee and direct Food Safety practices within the wing.
  4. Provide expert Food Safety advice and guidance to the wing.
  5. Act as a member of the department management team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience in health and safety in a catering role.
  • Proven track record of delivering training programmes to various levels of ability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage resources, prioritise activity, and deliver to deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, including familiarity with Office 365 and MS Teams.
