About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Assistant to join our team at Essex County Council. As a Residential Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to adults in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and support to individuals, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Support individuals with personal care, medication, meal preparation, and laundry.
  • Encourage individuals to access social and leisure activities, including college classes, resource centres, and community access.
  • Monitor individual emotional and general wellbeing, ensuring the protection of adults from abuse.
  • Support individuals to make choices, respecting their dignity and privacy.

Requirements

  • Experience in a social care setting, with a willingness to achieve RQF Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent within 24 months.
  • Good communication skills and ability to develop a rapport with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Awareness of a person-centred approach and respect for dignity and privacy.
  • Understanding of legislation in respect of Vulnerable Adults, Mental Capacity, and other relevant legislation.
