Vacation Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Vac Operator to join our team at Biffa in Seaham. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our machinery and processes.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring machinery, ensuring finished goods are stored safely, and maintaining high housekeeping standards. You will also be expected to identify and address any issues or concerns, working closely with the production supervisor and lead technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor machinery to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Ensure finished goods are stored safely and efficiently.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the plant area.
- Identify and address any issues or concerns, reporting to the production supervisor and lead technician.
- Support shift participation for near miss and hazard reporting.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.Strong problem-solving skills in a time-critical environment.Forklift license desirable (training provided).Previous experience in an operational environment is desirable.What We Offer
