Senior Medical Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical professional to join our team as a Senior Medical Operations Manager. This role will be responsible for providing medical support to our shipboard medical teams, as well as liaising with senior level colleagues in hotel and maritime operations, local and regional government officials, and leaders of other external organizations, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical advisory services to shipboard doctors across all Royal Caribbean Group brands.
- Provide guidance to the shipboard doctors on the disembarkation of patients, including the pertinence to proceed with a shoreside referral, end of contract referral, or medical sign off.
- Guide shipboard doctors on the procedures to evacuate a person from a ship.
- Participate in the review process of surgical treatments for crew members, ensuring appropriate clinical documentation and explanation of need for the requested surgical procedure.
- Support crew wellness programs.
- Provide regular, periodic on-call coverage for the helpline in support of the shipboard medical teams.
- Provide medical consultation and guidance, with the shoreside Public Health team, to shipboard medical teams for onboard crew infectious diseases cases and outbreaks.
- Support and facilitate, as needed, shipboard infectious disease vaccination programs, including influenza and SARS-CoV-2.
- Review pre-employment/re-employment physicals of new/returning crew, as needed.
- Deploy to ships in situations of illness outbreaks or emergency coverage needs.
Requirements:
- Licensed Medical Doctor
- Experience as a shipboard Senior Doctor for at least 5 years is preferred.
- Ten (10) years, minimum, of experience as a medical practitioner.
- Familiarity and comfort with data collection, review, and analysis.
- Understanding of performance and outcomes measures and their application to driving improved performance and quality.
- Ability to travel to ships to provide onsite support and management, as needed.
