Childhood First is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Care Worker to join our team at Merrywood House, a specialist residential children's home in Norfolk. As a Therapeutic Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children aged 10-18 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, promoting their emotional and psychological well-being.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to create a therapeutic environment, supporting children's individual needs and goals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring children receive tailored support and interventions.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in child psychotherapy and residential childcare.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including social workers, therapists, and other professionals, to ensure seamless support for children and their families.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a therapeutic or residential setting (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, promoting a culture of mutual respect and open communication.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, colleagues, and external partners.
- Commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare and well-being.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work varied shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends.
