About the Role:
Zurich 56 Company Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Marine Insurance Underwriter/Account Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial Insurance Energy, Marine and Construction team, you will work in an established underwriting team, managing a portfolio of Fine Art, Jewellers Block, General Specie and Cash in Transit risks in accordance with Zurich guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor underwriting guidelines while complying with insurance laws and regulations and pricing manuals.
- Work closely with the Risk Engineering/Claims and Customer Teams as required.
- Collaborate with the Finance function to support financial processing and premium collection.
- Develop relationships with cedants and brokers to support business retention and acquisition.
- Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
- Qualify accounts to meet the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
- Cross-sell other lines of business to increase product density with the account.
- Handle and review large/complex underwriting submissions and annual underwriting reviews.
Requirements:
- Experience working for an insurer/reinsurer on Fine Art & Specie business (or similar technical lines) is beneficial but not essential.
- Underwriting or Claims experience is considered.
- Accredited degree or similar insurance qualifications.
- Knowledge of insurance policy wordings, equivalent broker and market clauses.
- Disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing.
